Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 6, 2026

This policy explains what information the PDFScanly app ("PDFScanly", "we", "us") uses, why, and the choices you have. In short: your documents stay on your phone.

1. Your documents and photos

Pages you scan or import, and everything made from them (PDFs, images, text, translations, signatures), are created and stored only on your device. We do not upload them to our servers and we cannot see them. They leave your phone only when you choose to share or save them somewhere, for example to another app or to your gallery.

2. Permissions we ask for

3. On-device features by Google ML Kit

Text extraction, language detection, translation, barcode reading and background removal use Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. For translation, language models are downloaded from Google the first time you use a language. Google may collect limited technical data to deliver ML Kit; see ML Kit Terms.

4. Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and app usage information. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first, and you can change it any time in Me → Privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Premium users do not see ads. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

5. Purchases

Premium subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active, but never your card or payment details.

6. App analytics and crash reports

To fix problems and improve the app we may use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, which collect anonymous usage events (for example "a scan was completed") and crash details (device model, Android version, the error). These never include the content of your documents.

7. Children

PDFScanly is a general productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Keeping and deleting data

Because your documents are stored on your device, you control them: delete them in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything it stored. Data held by Google services (ads, analytics) follows Google's retention rules.

9. Security

Your files are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Connections the app makes (for ads, purchases and model downloads) use encryption (HTTPS).

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
