Scanning

The edges are not detected

Put the page on a darker or contrasting surface, make sure all four corners are in view, and hold the phone above the page. You can always drag the corners and side handles on the crop screen.

Scans look blurry

Tap the screen to focus on the page, keep good light, and choose Maximum in the HD menu (top of the camera).

Turn off auto capture

Tap AUTO at the top of the camera, or open ⋮ → Auto Capture.

Filters and editing

Which filter should I use?

Enhance for most documents, No Shadow B&W for text-only pages, Vivid Color for photos and posters, Whiteboard for boards, Eco to save printer ink.

Change the filter later

Open the document, tap a page → Edit → Filters. Pages scanned with the latest version start again from the original photo, so quality is kept.

Remove handwriting or marks

Use Smart Eraser: paint over the marks, or turn on "Auto-remove pen ink" for blue, red and green ink.

Text and translation

Text extraction says no text found

Make sure the text is sharp and large enough. It reads English and Latin-script languages, and Hindi.

Translation needs to download

Each language downloads once (about 30 MB), then works offline. Manage downloads from the icon at the top of the Translate screen.

Sharing, watermark and Premium

Remove the watermark

When sharing, tap Remove: watch a short video to remove it for that share, or get Premium to remove it for good.

Restore Premium on a new phone

Sign in with the same Google account, open Premium and tap Restore purchases.

Cancel Premium

Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → PDFScanly → Cancel.
